Where in the world is Twin Peaks?
Twin Peaks is located in the heart of the San Bernardino Mountains, only 84 miles east of Los Angeles. Our little community is about a mile high (elevation 5,800) nestled in a valley of tall pine trees. We’re part of the greater community of Lake Arrowhead . Our community is sandwiched between two Lakes. Lake Arrowhead 3 miles to the East and Lake Gregory 3 miles to the northwest. Plus Lake Silverwood state park is only 7 miles away.
Was the T. V. show filmed here?
No, sorry it wasn’t this Twin Peaks in the T. V. series.. There have been three movies filmed here in just the last 4 years, “Somebody Please Help Me” , “Marked” and just filmed “Necrosis”. One interesting piece of movie history, is there is a cabin here in Twin Peaks where Clark Gable used to stay.( See our history page)
Where are the two Peaks that make Twin Peaks?
Good question. The first Peak is Strawberry Peak with a large look out tower. It is open in the summer for tourists. From this look out tower they monitor the space shuttle and forest fires. The other peak is some what of a mystery. The old timers believe it is the smaller Strawberry Lodge Peak which is home to the Strawberry Lodge. See our history page for more information.
